Ponderosa Pines- Biome

What is your biome?

Ponderosa pines are native to mountainous, coniferous regions in western north America. They are located in the woodlands and savannah like ecosystems. The pine trees usually heavily populate savannah ecosystems.

Where in the world can your Biome be found?

Most of the population of the pines spread across the western side of North America. There population starts in south east Canada ending in north east Mexico. There are also some spread across Europe and China.

Describe the climate in your biome.

The coniferous forests that ponderosa pines are located in are temperate coniferous forests. They often have mild climates, and also mild winters. There seasonal variability in temperature is less common then most temperate environments.

Describe the biodiversity of your biome by identifying 2-3 commonly found plants

There are multiple types of plants and animals located in coniferous forests. Conifourous forests have a very diverse biome.
